Construction of plastic casingn

For more than 30 years, we have been involved in the development and design of complex housings for electronic devices, with all the associated components, such as buttons, sockets, seals, displays, foils and additional sheet metal parts. Our work focuses on the design of plastic housings in complex plastic parts that are manufactured using compact injection moulding. However, we also develop vacuum deep-drawn parts or those made of TSG (blowing agent injection moulding) and PU foam (integral rigid foam). Our field of work also includes housings made of sheet metal and die-cast metal. Our main CAD system in the design department is ‘SolidWorks’. We also use Pro Engineer, Catia and Inventor. The design process is carried out in accordance with ISO 9001.

Our expertise spans a wide range of industries. For example, we develop plastic housings for medical technology, communications technology and also for entertainment and measurement technology. Our development expertise covers all common materials and production techniques. During the design phase, we work closely with our customer’s hardware development department. The basis is often detailed product design specifications, which are either jointly Design process were created or are specified by the customer. On our project page you will find some products from our design department under the ‘Engineering’ performance filter.

CONSTIN GmbH is certified in accordance with the quality management standard DIN ISO EN 9001. Our customers can track the development status of their plastic enclosure at any time during the design phase thanks to our clearly structured design processes. Every step that we take together with our customers is documented clearly and in detail for traceability.

It starts with the design concept. Once all the specifications for the design of a plastic housing have been verified, the prototype design follows. This ends with the construction of the first prototype P1 and a corresponding drawing. Prototype construction (prototyping) enables us to minimise the potential risks for the design in advance. This is followed by series construction. During this phase, the design is optimised until it is ready for series production. The desired quantities and the specification requirements determine the manufacturing process. Once our design has been finalised, our customer can be sure that everything will run smoothly in series production with competent manufacturing partners. If required, we can also supervise the series run and series production or production process during the realisation phase. Many of our customers have their plastic enclosures, some of which are complex and extensive products that we have developed for them, produced by us. Our design team has been supporting some products for more than a decade. We therefore know the ups and downs of series production from our own experience and know how to avoid mistakes in the manufacture of plastic enclosures. As a result, we have become reliable partners for our customers. Our design department is therefore also available for ongoing optimisation during series production.
